Bankrupt haulier appealed to TC for the return of two trucks A HAULIER who last week failed in his efforts to have two impounded vehicles returned to him (CM 4-10 Sept) had already been declared bankrupt before he appeared before the Eastern Traffic Commissioner, it emerged this week.

Patrick Keegan, who was branded "a liar" by Geoffrey Simms for being untruthful about his involvement with Express Eurofreight, was previously declared bankrupt on 13 July at Ipswich County Court. The case was brought by P&O Stena Line which was believed to be owed a five-figure sum.

A spokeswoman for the official receiver confirmed Keegan's bankruptcy. His firm, PJ Keegan Services, was liquidated earlier this year and it is understood the creditors included P&O North Sea Ferries.
