Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

drivers for three hours; takes 30 minutes to load and then has a one-hour break. He then drives three hours to get home.

appears the driver is on duty for no more than 7.3 hours each night (including the break). We assume he does no work before he first starts to drive the vehicle and does no work after he has stopped driving it.

EC Regulation 3820/83 requires that: (a) during each week one of the daily rest periods must be extended into a weekly rest period; and (b) a weekly rest period must be taken after not more than six daily driving periods.

The weekly rest period must beat least 45 hours but it can be reduced to 36 hours if taken at the vehicle's or driver's base, or to 24 hours in any other case. Any reduction must be compensated for by an equivalent amount of time being added, in one lump, to a rest period of at least eight hours by the end of the third following week.

Without any further information as to the times the driver works, we see no reason why he should not work six shifts and then take a weekly rest. It appears he would have to take a weekly rest period reduced by a few hours but
