NEW equipment for the city's highways, airport, lighting, fire and health departments has recently been ordered at Liverpool, the tenders covering 48 units. Total expenditure involved in this group of purchases exceeds £120,000. Of this figure, more than half will go to Dennis Bros. Ltd. for the supply of an emergency fire tender, three dual-purpose pumping appliances and 12 Paxit Major 111A refuse collectors. A Merryweather 100-ft. turntable ladder will cost £11,150, . and 10 B.M.C. ambulances (six with Wadham bodies and four With Appleyard) will stand in the accounts at £16,512.
