• UK drivers at Laura Ashley have escaped lightly with only three jobs lost out of a total of 40, despite 1,500 redundancies planned by the company worldwide (CM 4-10 October).
The company runs a 30vehicle fleet, based at Milton Keynes and Newtown, Powys. The three driving jobs will go through compulsory and voluntary redundancies — a further two transport jobs will be cut from the administration side of the business.
