Our thanks to Vanguard Engineering of Greenford whose specialist removal company allowed daredevil motorcyclist Chris Bromham to use 20 of their vehicles to make this 73.5m (241ft) leap into the record books, using his Yamaha motorbike on which he clocked 206km/h (128 mph) as he left the ramp.
The world record was previously set at 63m (208 ft) in 1983 by the same Chris Brun-111am.
The Hawk has to ask when some heroic haulier will display similar derring-do by leaping a 38-tonner o'er a line of motorcycles . . .
