• By the end of this month the M25 should be complete, but repairs continue on the rest of the network. The Department of Transport has issued warnings about the likelihood of fog, particularly in the early morning, there may be sudden banks of fog on the motorways.

MI. Hertfordshire

Lane closures between junctions 7 (M10) and 9 (Harpenden) will continue to cause delays next week. The entry slip road at junction 8 (Hemel Hempstead) is still dosed.

MI Buckinghamshire

There is contraflow working near Newport Pagnetl service area, between junctions 14 (Milton Keynes) and 15 (Northampton).

Mt Leicestershire There is contraflow working at junction 23 (Loughborough).

M1 Derbyshire There is contraflow working just north of junction 27 (Mansfield) which can involve closure of this junction.

M1 South Yorkshire Major roadworks started this week between junctions 31 (Worksop) and 33 (Sheffield Central). Strengthening works and repairs necessitate restricting the traffic for 10.5km (6.5 miles). At certain times slip roads at junction 31 and the MI/M18 link will be dosed. This work will last until January next year.

M2 Kent There are lane closures between junctions 5 (Maidstone) and 7 (Canterbury).

M4 Berkshire There is contraflow working between junctions 12 (Reading) and 13 (Newbury).

M4 Wiltshire Lane closures between junctions 16 (Swindon) and 17 (Chippenham).

M5 Worcestershire Contrafiow working continues to affect the section between junctions 4 (Bromsgrove) and 5 (Droitwich).

M6 Lancashire There are lane closures near junction 32 (M55 spur). M6 Cumbria Contratlow working can cause delays between junctions 40 (Penrith) and 41 (Wigton).

M11 Essex

The Redbridge roundabout at the junction of the M11 and the Al2 is to undergo further closures for the next six months to enable the construction of a viaduct over it, carrying the new A406 North Circular Road between Woodford and Barking. The worst delays are likely to begin on October 19 when

Eastbound traffic on the Al2 will be diverted up and then down part of the MIL M20 Kent Carriageway reconstruction between junctions 7 (Maidstone) and 8 (Bearsted) is causing contraflow working. The work should finish next month.

M27 Hampshire There are carriageway repairs that continue to disrupt traffic between junctions I. (Lyndhurst) and 4 (A33, LondoniWinchester). The contraflow working should cease on October 22. M40 Oxfordshire

Delays can still be expected between junctions 6 (Watlington) and 7 (Wallingford).

M74 Strathclyde Delays can be expected on the M74 South of Motherwell.
