Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Volkswagen up

• VW van prices rose by an average of 2.4% from October 1. The rise, says VAG, was due to the strength of the German Mark against the Pound. It affects the Polo, Golf van, Caddy, Transporter and LT.

Examples of the new prices, excluding VAT, are as follows: Polo van (petrol) (old price, £3,995), new price, £4,107; Transporter van (1.9 petrol) (£6,325) £6,474; LT31 chassis cab diesel (g9,460) 29,695; LT35E van (petrol) (£9,147) £9,380.

Ford diesels down

• From now until midDecember Ford is promoting certain diesel-engined models in its car and van range by offering diesel models at petrol model prices.

This is restricted to just two vans, the Escort estate-based Combi and the Combi L. The 1.6 litre diesel Combi is reduced from £6,244 to £5,688 (including VAT) while the diesel Combi L is reduced from £6,346 to £5,790 (including VAT).

1% on ERF

• ERF has raised its prices by an average of 1%.

This has taken the price of the 38-tonne GCW 4x2 unit with a Cummins LTA10-250 from £31,100 to £31,411. The 6x2 twin-steer unit with the Cummins LTA10-290 engine goes up from £37,850 to £38,228. These prices exclude VAT.

Job's Fast Food Distribution has added this 16.26 tonne GVW ERF E6 to its fleet, where it will work alongside Volvo F6s. It has the 125kW (168hp) Cummins B series 6BTA engine.
