NEW BRAND of synthesised motor oil is now being marketed by le Mobil Oil Company Ltd.
Conventionally, motor oil beMobil 1 is said to reverse the ins as a crude oil which is reprocess by using synthesised ned to eliminate impurities, hydrocarbon and ester-based ith other materials added to stocks with additives chemically nprove performance level, similar to those used in conven tional oils to ensure detergency, resistance to oxidation, the ability to reduce wear and corrosion, and to give particular viscosity characteristics.
Designated the SAE 10W-30, the new oil is claimed to have superior low-temperature performance. Fluidity of conventional mineral oil lubricants may become restricted due to wax crystals at low temperatures.
Mobil 1 has no wax crystals and remains completely fluid down to —50°C. Benefits will include faster cranking, easier starting, less wear on starter, battery and engine.
The new product, which has been approved by most leading European automotive engine manufacturers, does not thicken in service and will mix with all conventional types of engine oil.
