Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I NTENDED for use in smaller and

lighter chassis than those hitherto built by Armstrong-Saurer Commercial Vehicles, Ltd., Great West Road, lirentford, Middlesex, two new oil engines are to be introduced by this company. They are rated at 23.8 h.p. and 27.3 h.p. respectively, and it is hoped that• they will be included among the Armstrong-Saurer exhibits at Olympia next month.

The lower-powered unit has six cylinders with a bore and stroke of 80 mm. and 120 mm. It is of the direct-injection type, has a combustion chamber that creates a high degree of turbulence and injection pump and injectors cf Saurer design. There are four valves in each cylinder, the head being a single casting. Cylinder liners are used and the block and crankcase are cast as a unit in Silumin.

Also of the direct-injection type, the four-eylindered engine has the Dual Turbulence head, whilst the main constructional features resemble the six cylinderecl unit. In this case, however, the injection pump is of Bosch manufacture.

No particulars of performance, c.c., are yet available, as the engines aro hardly out of the experimental stage, we understand.
