THE Whiting exhibits will be very comprehensive. They will include a 34 11.p. two-ton Federal chassis fitted with a special London-built 20-seater motor coach body; a 2-1. ton chassis of the same make, carrying a London-built single-deck bus body; a 45 cwt. Clydesdale chassis with a patent hand-operated tipping body; a one-rim British-built Whiting chassis; azother of the same type to carry 30 cwt., and a 10.6 h.p. 15 cwt. Dort van.
The two-ton Federal chassis hasaan engine of 105 mm. bore and 133 mm. stroke; a single dry-plate clutch, fourspeed gearbox, and worm-driven back Duplex expanding brakes operate on the rear wheels. The wheels are shed with Goodyear giant pneumatic tyres.
The 4 ton'model is similar in nearly' all its essentials, except that. the gear ratio is somewhat lower, whilst the rear springs are of more substantial proportions.
The 45 cwt. Clydesdale has a fourcylinder engine with a bore and stroke of 95 mm. and 127 mm., -a multiple disc clutch, three-speed gearbox, and
overhead worm-driven rear axle. _ The smaller Whiting chassis is mounted on pneumatic cord tyres, and is fitted with electric starting and lighting. The four-cylinder -engine is of 89 mm. lire and 127 mm. stroke, and the cooling is therincesyphonic. The clutch is of the dry diae type, and the gearing provides three speeds.
The larger Whiting chassis has . a slightly more powerful engine, and is mounted on solid tyres, but its essentials are otherwise the same.
The Dort van has a leather cone dutch, three-speed gear and beveldriven rear axle, and is mounted on pneumatic tyres all round. It has a fourcylinder engine of 89 mm. bore and 127 ram. .stroke, which is rated at 19.6 h.p.
