Stand No. 61.

THE Karrier exhibits will, for the

I first time. for many years, include a stripped chassis. This will be of the K.4 type, designed for loads of from three to four tons. This is a particularly robust vehicle, and two striking features about it are. the ample size of the bearing surfaces and the absence throughout of loose. keys, for, wherever a key is usually fitted, splining has been adopted. The two chars-a-bancs to be shown are the 30-seater on the K.3 passenger type chassis, and a 35-seater on the S.K. type chassis. The bodywork on the former has been constructig throughout at the Huddersfield works of the company, one c46 of its outstanding features being the patented one-man hood, which, it is claimed, can be operated with very little effort and without disturbing the passengers, the hood folding down into a longitudinal boat built into the side of the coachwork.

The chief feature of the S.K. vehicle. is the fact that the driver's seat is placed alongside the engine, the bonnet -being shortened and the steering column, gear and brake levers carried so far forward thata much greater body space is obtained. The gain is about 2 ft., 80 that bodies 16 ft. long can be fitted.

A 5-6 ton lorry will be shown with its body equipped with the Karrier tipping gear, which permits of tipping to either side or to the rear. The gear is driven from the engine, and the coupling of a small hydraulic pump serves to operate the tip. The Karrier patent road sweeper and refuse collector has undergone improvement since last year. the two front brushes having been replaced by a singlt large brush. The model will have a tip ping body.
