THOSE who favour worm-driven chassis for light.leads and chain-driven chassis for heavy loads will find bath types. represented on the stand of Commercial Cars, Ltd. Probably the chassis which will attract the most attention is the new 5-tanner. The Thomas gearbox, which is fitted to all Commer Car post-war chassis, transmits power to the. universally jointed shaft and thence to a hardened pinion and crown wheel, the 'final drive being by means of heavy roller chains.

The other chain-driven model is a 4tonner, which is fitted with a three-way tipping wagon, the well-known RC type chassis, which embodies a 32-h.p. engine, being employed. Of the worm-driven chassis, the first is a 2-tonner, which embodies a 25 h.p. four-cylinder engine, whilst the other is the 3P type Commercial .Car, motor coach chassis, in which a 4our-cylindered engine of 120 mm. bore and 140 mm. stroke is used. The body which is fitted to this latter chassis will give an adequate indication of the great advances which have been made in coach body building.
