Stand No. 99.

AN interesting newcomer to the Show this year will be a threewheeled vehicle manufactured by the well-known firm of Gellert Freres, of Paris and Marseilles. The sole agents in this country for this little machine, particulars of which first appeared in this journal some months ago, are W. Rodda and Co., 59-60, Chancery Lane, London, W.C.

In the first instance, beforer dealing with the general specification, a feature 'which will appeal, to small traders is the unusual amount. of body space which is available, having regard: to the length of the chassis. This is due to the manner in which the horizontally opposed ermine is disposed, and to the position of ''the gearing and final drive.

• The engine is an 8 hp. horizontally opposed air-cooled twin, with a bore and stroke of 80 mm. and 100 rum. •respectively. It is fitted with detachable cylinder heads, and the inlet and exhaust

valves axe interchangeable. Oil is fed under pressure to the main bearings, and, by reason of the disposition of the engine in the frame, unusually cool running 15 obtained. A Solex carburettor is fitted, and on ordinary give-and-take work it -has been found that an average of 37 miles to the gallon can be obtained. The clutch is a Ferodo-lined cone, and the gearlaox fitted, which gives three speeds forward and a reverse, is situated forward of the engine. The final drive is on the front wheel, the necessity for a long eardan shaft with its universals and differential gear being obviated.
