Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The effects of Milk Marques decision to halve its use of haulage contractors are beginning to bite.

Earlier this year Milk Marque decided to cut the number of its distributors to cope with a declining market share. Seven operators, including Wincanton Logistics and Ryder, lost their contracts.

Wincanton says it has had to make 10 drivers redundant, most of them at its Ivy Bridge site in Devon which was dedicated to Milk Marque.

However, J Sharp 86 Son of Cumbria. one of the seven hauliers still working for Milk Marque, claims the restructuring has not led to more work for the firm. 'We're probably doing less now than we were," says John Sharp, But Milk Marque distribution director Pat Williams insists that some larger hauliers would have benefited from the changes.
