• North London-based Federation Freight is still offering work and owes hauliers thousands of pounds. months after Commercial Motor first exposed its operation, The company has previously been reported to offer excellent rates to hauliers and then withhold payment for completed work. Federation Freight director Jeff Lewis has been involved in four other forwarding companies in the past five years which have attracted a total of 20 county court judgments.
The company used to use a forwarding address in North London but operated from a book shop in Hendon.
This week CM has learnt that Lewis is using a new address in Wembley Park, Middlesex and owes two hauliers
around £8,000.
Richard Lavender, from
the Wolverhampton based forwarder Lakeside International, says he carried out
six jobs for 4. Federation Freight between July and September of this year for which he is owed around £4,000. "I'm

just a small operator. I can't afford to lose the money," says Lavender. Glenn Brownlee from Inter Global Forwarding, based in Hexham,
