A MORE comprehensive engine warranty coverage has been announced by Cummins.

Although the basic warranty period is unaltered at 160,000km (100,000 miles), 3,600 hours running time or one year (whichever is the soonest), labour costs in carrying out remedial work under the warranty are now reimbursed for the whole period.

Consumable items — oil, anti-freeze and filters — lost or contaminated through a warranty-covered defect are now replaced at Cummins' expense during the basic warranty.

Cummins' extended warranty period of 480,000km (300,000 miles), 10,800 hours or three years, whichever is the soonest, covering all cylinder blocks and crankshafts is now increased in scope to cover, additionally, all connecting rods.
