AFTER SIX years with no Dennis exhibits at the Scottish Show, the Guildford manufacturer is this year represented by three vehicles at Yorkhill Quay.
A Dominator bus chassis in (16ft 3m) wheelbase form is on show fitted with a Gardner 6LXB engine, Voith fully automatic transmission incorporating an integral hydraulic retarder and a Dennis drop-centre doublereduction rear axle, The R60 fire appliance has been built for the Clwyd Fire Brigade and has a Rolls-Royce B81 engine coupled to an Allison 640 transmission. A Godiva AMP 50 fire pump is fitted and the appliance carries 1,820 litres (400gal) of water.
Completing the Hestair Dennis display at Yorkhill Quay is a Bulkmaster 70 Mk II refuse collection vehicle. The 13m (17.3cuyd) body will accept up to 7 tons of compressed refuse. Mechanical details include a Perkins 6.354.2 engine and a single-speed Eaton axle.
