Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

tipping vehicles on B licence but am advised that I would have to make fresh application for these licences which would be open to objection. Is this true?

AIt will be necessary for you to apply to

the appropriate Licensing Authority to operate these vehicles as set out on the existing B carrier's licence and this application should be made on form GV1B.

As to the likelihood of objections, your case may be covered under Section 173 (1) of the Road Traffic Act, 1960. This empowers a Licensing Authority to grant a licence without publication under certain circumstances. Under normal conditions, provided you did not seek to alter the conditions on the licence under which the vehicles are at present operating. the Licensing Authority may well consider your application to be one which does not justify publication, but such consideration is at the discretion of the Licensing Authority.
