Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DORTABLE high-pressure greasing

equipment of a new type, the Lube-ette, will shortly be marketed in the United Kingdom by Lawrence Edwards and Co. (Engineers) Ltd. It can utilize any standard 7 lb. tin of grease and can provide 100 shots of grease after it has been disconnected from the supply line. This provides for the greasing of nipples in particularly awkward positions.

The equipment comprises a hand gun and connecting hose and a bell housing which incorporates a plunger, detailed features including a swivel joint at the base of the handle and a flexible extension tube. This can be used to replace the standard rigid probe and an alternative probe position on the gun. Nozzle pressure is 6,000 p.s.i.

Marketed by: Lawrence Edwards and Co. (Engineers) Ltd., Kidderminster, Worcs.

Price: £12 10s.

Sanding system

A3M SANDING system has been introduced by the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co. Ltd. which is claimed to speed up body repair work and provide an improved finish. A particular feature of the equipment is the use of quick-acting bayonet couplings which enable the sanding and finishing discs, together with their backing pad, to be changed in a fraction of the normal time. The male coupling is screwed and locked permanently to the drive spindle of the sander.

The finishing disc is designed to work on metal and virtually eliminates the hand finishing normally required before the primer service is applied. The disc also featheredges the paint line which provides a timesaving advantage in the paint shop.

Warm air curtain

DEPRESENTING the latest addition to

the range of industrial and commercial heaters produced by Myson Heat Exchangers Ltd., the Dorseal warm air curtain is a completely new unit designed to cater for heating problems in the case of factories, stores, workshops and so on, where the frequent passage of large numbers of people make it inconvenient to use a normal type of door. The unit incorporates a centrifugal fan mounted above an air chamber which contains a full length heat exchanger.

After entering the chamber at a relatively low velocity and passing over the heater battery, the air is caused to converge into a high-velocity air stream by means of a specially-designed outlet cowl. The correct air pattern is provided by a special linear grille and it is claimed that the horse power absorbed is considerably less than that absorbed by the conventional warm-air curtain. High-, mediumor low-pressure hot-water systems, or a steam system, are suitable for use with the warm-air curtain. Makers: Myson Heat Exchangers Ltd., Light Industrial Estate, Ongar, Essex.

Combating air pollution

AHEATED swirl chamber is a special feature of the Zenith Duplex system developed by the Zenith Carburetter Co. Ltd. to reduce the toxic content of the exhaust gas Of a petrol engine to the low level of pollution required by law in America and to maintain this low level for 50,000 miles. Zenith notes that pollution tends to worsen when the engine is idling, decelerating or operating on part throttle.

The carburetter is of the standard constant-depression type and the fuel-air mixture is metered to the swirl chamber during partthrottle and idling operations by an auxiliary throttle below the main unit. The swirl chamber is quickly heated once the engine is started which ensures vaporization of the mixture before it is fed back to the main gallery of the induction manifold.
