year ended March 31 a total of 4,791 goods vehicles were checked for weight and 1,146 found to be over the declared unladen weight. £5,658 was collected in arrears and additional licence duty.
Tibbet 's Corner Improvement: £1,408,660 has been granted to the Greater London Council towards the cost, estimated at £1,878,214, of a scheme to improve Tibbet's Corner, Wandsworth. Its roundabout, upon which half-a-dozen roads now converge, is to be replaced by a larger one to the south-west. It will have fewer access roads and an underpass will carry the main through traffic on the A3 (Kingston Road/West Hill) route.
