PARLY-MORNING and night deliveries to
retail grocers in the Manchester area are being considered. Mr. Alban Curtis, secretary of the N.W. Multiple Grocers' Association, the Manchester, Salford and District Grocers' Association, and the Northern Council of Grocers' Association told COMMERCIAL MOTOR this week that because of staff shortages in both wholesale and retail trades, arrangements had been made in some cases to start shop deliveries at 7 a.m. so that rounds Could be completed by mid-morning. This would reduce pressure at busy times.
