THREE Black: Countrycoach drivers did not take 10 consecutive hours' rest during the Friday before August Bank Holiday—an 'exceptionally busy period—and fines and costs totalling over £43 were last week imposed by Hundred House magistrates upon them, the owner of the vehicles and a coachtour concern. The magistrates did not accept that there were exceptional circumstances.
• It was stated that two drivers spent 16 hours on one coach, on a run to Yarmouth from Great Witley, and returned home 231 hours after departitre, and the other driver had only slightly more than seven hours' rest in 24i hours.
• Drivers' difficulties in obtaining accommodation in the crowded resorts to which they ran Vete pointed out. Each driver paid a 'fine of £2.
