his intention, in response to repeated requests by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and others, to permit four-wheeled doubledeck passenger vehicles 27-ft. long to
be constructed. This concession will apply to vehicles registered for the first
time on or after June 1, 1950. The present legal Overall length is 26 ft. No amendment is to be made to regulations governing turning circles or overhang. .
Chassis design will not necessarily be affected by the increase in overall length, because the wheelbase and overhang of present models permit an increase of 9-12 ins, in rear overhang without infringing regulations governing dimensions.
