Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CONSIDERABLE advance has been made in the design of the Edbro hydraulic tipping gear made by Edwards Brothers (Tippers), Ltd, Springfield

Garage, Bradford Street, Bolton. For some time this company has marketed a singe-ram gear, but the newest model is of the double-ram type and has been made more compact by the incorporation of the complete mechanism within the main oil container.

Ths Edbro is a hand-operated hydraulic gear of the vertical-ram kind, the assembly being situated just behind the driver's cab. The main component takes the form of a rectangular case, containing the Gil supply, the pump unit and the bases of the rams. The base casting is drilled for the flow of oil, so that pipes are eliminated. Two plungertype pumps are employed, and are arranged so that the pump discharging on the upward stroke has a smaller capacity, this, of course, easing the manual operation.

The return of the body to the horizontal position is effected by means of a pull-rod, located transversely alongside the operating lever. This actuates a ball-valve device, allowing the oil to return from the rams back to the tank. Attachment of the gear to the chassis is arranged so as to provide for any misalignment of the body.
