• Huddersfield coach operator Ivy Travel has sold its buses and goodwill to Wakefield-based Caldaire Holdings, leaving Ivy Travel to concentrate on its coaching activities.
The deal removes competition on the Wakefield-toDewsbury corridor between Ivy and Yorkshire Woolen, which has absorbed six of the 11 Ivy buses into its fleet. The remainder will join Yorkshire Woolen at the end of the month when the remaining routes will cease.
Caldaire is then expected to transfer the operation of its Huddersfield-based routes to Yorkshire Rider and Yorkshire Traction in a back-to-back deal which will see the return of tendered routes to their former operators.
