• City of Oxford Motor Services has invested 2450,000 on five Daf coaches to operate the summer timetable of its X70 airport service to Heathrow and Gatwick. At the same time operations director David Beaman has sent his 25-seat MCW Metroriders to challenge Harry Nundred in his Exeter base.
COMS' move into Exeter has been prompted by Devon County Council's decision to change the length restriction in Exeter High Street to allow in the Metroriders. Previously, only Blundred's Ford Transits could operate there.
