• Two distribution contracts worth more than 22 million have been signed by Swift Transport Services and Ford New Holland.
Under the first deal, Swift will transport tractor parts from FNH's West Thurrock warehouse every evening to the firm's dealer network.
The second contract is for delivery of compact tractors, assembled in Antwerp, to UK dealers. Swift will be responsible for the collection and trunking of tractors from Harwich direct to the dealer.
Swift plans to increase its fleet by 12 vehicles for the contract, which will use a mixture of 32.5-tonne artics and 17-tonne rigids.
