IRISH bus maker GAC is hoping to break into the British bus market with its new rear engined lightweight rural bus.
A prototype demonstrator is expected in Britain later this year. The vehicle is designed to compete with high specification but cheap-tooperate vehicles such as Leyland's Danish-built Tiger Cub.
National Bus Company subsidiary United is among the British operators said to have expressed an interest in the design which is .currently available with a Cummins B Series of Daf engine and Alison automatic transmission.
