A FIFE haulier appeared at Kirkcaldy High Court on April 23 on charges alleging vat frauds totalling more than A:107,000.
James Taylor, of Methil, described as a prisoner, denied nine charges alleging that he submitted, or caused to be submitted, false vat returns and defrauded Customs and Excise Commissioners between April 1981 and August 1983.
Taylor also denied two charges claiming that he submitted, or caused to be submitted, false profit and loss accounts and balance sheets understating his trade in 1982 by £36,920 and in 1983 by i130,866, in attempts to defraud the Inland Revenue.
