It encapsulates the spirit of a 20-page booklet issued by National Carriers and illustrated by full-page full-colour cartoons painted by Graham Thompson. It politely tells traders that only mugs run their own vehicles and saddle themselves with all the inherent difficulties of break-, downs, vehicle replacement, vehicle taxation, operators' licence, legislation, insurance and capital investment."
Come to think of it, even those who run vehicles for a crust must be either masochists or insane.
