The criticism by the Prince of Wales of poor communications in industry hardly applies to the National Freight Corporation. Supplementing its normal open channels of communication, it held special meetings for about 800 managers in 17 places in Britain to explain current industrial relations and pay problems and their likely effects on the corporation.
John Farrant, managing director of Southern BRS, had the opportunity to talk to the Prince at a preview of the trade exhibitions to be staged as part of the Transglobe Expedition 1979-1982, which will make the first attempt at polar circumnavigation. His company is transporting all the exhibition stands and display material in the UK.
