THE BRITISH Institute of Management has once again spoken out in defence of the managers of Britain.
Writing in the Institute's journal, ICI deputy chairman John Harvey-Jones has praised the intellectual calibre, versatility, adaptiveness and inventiveness of British managers.
Fellow top manager, Gilbert Johnson of J. C. Bamford Excavators says his company's policy is to keep everything as simple as possible and concentrate on the business we know best".

A BIM survey of British management found that the most frequently mentioned problems were industrial relations, trade union power, pool communications and staff motivation.
The next greatest type oi problem centred around bureaucracy, including Government interference and legislation.
However highly the BUY] rates British managers, aboui 70 per cent of those questioned thought they would benefil from further managemeni training.
