SMMT has decided to shorten the show's opening. It will now open at 10am and close at 7pm except on the last Sunday, when it will close at 5.30pm.

Mr Gent said that at the last show only four per cent of the visitors had arrived after 5pm, but more than 74 per cent of the visitors had arrived in the first hour of opening.

Coach operators will be provided with what the SMMT claims is the largest coach park in the world, capable of holding more than 1,000 coaches.

Press preview day will be October'14 and there will be two trade days on October 15 and 16. The show opens to the public on October 17.
