ORDERS for 129 single-deck t bodies have been received Marshall Motor Bodies, Ltd., from B.E.T. Federation, Ltd., acting on beh of associated operating companies. T designs will be to the WET. 1962
standard specifications. .
The current maximum dimensions 36 ft. by 8 ft. 21 in. are specified for 1 bodies which are to be 54-seaters. I these, 83 are to be on Leyland chassis ( for Ribble, 25 for Southdown, 15 f 'Yorkshire Woollen District and three f J. James and Sons, Ltd., of Ammanfon Sixteen A.E.C.s of the same size are be divided between the City of Oxfo and South Wales fleets, each of whom a to receive eight vehicles. Three furth bodies of this type are to be built f Thomas Bros. (Port Talbot), Ltd., 4 chassis yet to be decided.
The smaller 30 ft. by 8 ft. over dimensions are specified for 27 45-seat bodies. City of Oxford are to recei 11 on A_E.C. chassis, in addition to t eight larger vehicles already tnentione Nine on Leyland chassis are for Weste Welsh and seven on A.E.C. chassis w be supplied to Devon General.
EASTBOURNE'S SURPLUS UP
DESPITE LOW FARES IN the year ended March 31 la I Eastbourne Transport Undertakit earned a net surplus for transfer general reserve of £4,530, as agai £1,301 in the previous year.
