Sangster, deputy director, home sales, becomes director of home sales; Mr. J. W. R. Penrose, director and general home sales manager of the Austin Motor Co., becomes deputy director of home sales for B.M.C.; Mr. B. H. Bates, 13..M.C.'s home fleet sales supervisor, becomes general home sales manager of the Austin Motor Co.

Mr. F. J. BiIlyard, formerly northern area sales manager for Thos. Harrington, Ltd., of Hove, has joined Alf. Moseley, Ltd., Bedford coach main dealers as sales manager, Midlanc: region.

Mr. John Morton, chairman of Morton's (Coventry), Ltd., was recently presented with a clock on behalf of the directors and employees to mark his 50 years' service with Morton's companies.

Mr. A. C. Lloyd, formerly on the Birmingham staff of the Motor Trader, has been appointed general sales manager of Restall Bros., Ltd., Birmingham.

Mr. G. R. Flack has joined the sales promotion department of Matthews Oils, Ltd. He is responsible for the promotion of Silver Knight motor oils in the north of England.

With effect from June 1, Mr. J. C. Bailie becomes operating manager of the Ulster Transport Authority and Mr. R. Carlisle becomes commercial manager. Mr. A. McCleery, traffic manager, is retiring.

Mr. C. Bradwell, deputy chairman and joint managing director of Martin Walter, Ltd., has been elected to the executive council of the National Federation of Vehicle Trades, affiliated with the Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers.

Mr. J. M. Bodger has been appointed by the East Kent Road Car Co., Ltd., as district superintendent for the Canterbury area. Mr. Bodger, who is at present assistant to the district manager of Southdown Motor Services, Ltd., at Brighton, will be taking up his duties early next month.

Mr. C. Catford, district manager, India Tyres, Tooting, has retired after 31 years' service. His position is taken over by Mr. G. Standen. Mr. F. Palmer, previously sales secretary and later manager mileage sales, London, has been appointed district manager of the Kingsbury depot. He is succeeded in his previous position by Mr. E. Booth. Mr. W. J. Haddock, formerly district manager, Aberdeen, has been appointed assistant sales manager. Scotland, based on Glasgow. Mr. R. C. Wallace has been appointed district manager, Aberdeen, and Mr. D. F. McDowall, formerly commercial vehicle representative, takes up a similar appointment in Glasgow.
