THERE were 441 municipal operators I of Perkins oil engines at the end of 1955, Mr. F. Perkins, chairman and managing director, F. The Executive are to introduce anothet experimental express service during peak periods on weekdays and all day on Saturdays, It will operate between Kingston and Tattenham Corner from May 16, and will reduce the normal journey time by 11 min.

L.T.E. TO PAY £190 DAMAGES FOR BUS ACCIDENT

I N the Queen's Bench Division last week the London Transport Executive were ordered to pay £190 damages to Mr. James J. Hatton, Plashet Road, West Ham, for personal injuries sustained on a trolleybus.

The accident occurred when Mr. Hatton was about to take a scat on the upper deck of a trolleybus. The plaintiff was thrown against a window when, it was alleged, the bus started with a jerk, stopped suddenly and started again.

The court found that the accident occurred because the bus did not start off in a proper manner.

LEYLAND GLASGOW OFFICE

THE Glasgow sales office of Leyland Motors, Ltd., has moved to 4 Newton Place. Mr. G. Scarth is in charge of goods-vehicle sales and Mr. C. C. Bateson of passenger-vehicle sales. They will be joined by Mr. J. P. Carter, in control of Albion sales in Glasgow. Service arrangements for the area will he unchanged for the time being.
