A GOVERNMENT. amendment to 4-1, be moved by the Earl of Selkirk during the committee stage of the Transport (Disposal of -Road Haulage Property) Bill in the House of Lords,. next Tuesday, will deal With contracthire vehicles made over to a company controlled by the British Transport Commission.

It provides that the Commission may make over further vehicles to the company, hut the total transferred must not eeceeL a number agreed -between the Road Haulage Disposal Board and the B.T.C.. or, in default of L,agreement between them, determined. by the Minister of Transport. The .A licences held by the Commission in respect of the vehicles will be surrendered.

Another new clause will place the B.T.C. within the category of a holding company under Section 12 of the 1933 Act.
