Delivery contract spirited away by LCB
SPIRITS WHOLESALER PLB Group has exited an eight-year partnership with Cert Octavian to award London City Bond (LCB) a nationwide delivery service contract for both onand off-trade customers.
LCB will also provide picking, container de-stuffing and repacking services from its Barking, east London 273,000ft' facility.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire-based Cert Octavian, which has worked with PLB Group since 2002, tells CM: 'PLB Group acquired the assets of wine supplier HwCg [whose logistics partner was LCB] last August. PLB found the majority of goods were with LCB, so made a tactical decision to consolidate the stock."
PLB Group commercial director Jonathan Newton adds: "We are delighted to enter into a long-term partnership with LCB, which we believe has the complete solution to our UK logistics requirements."
