Clearing fees • Charges for clearing prohibitions at test stations, equivalent to a full test fee, come into force on 1 July.
Travel VAT • The EC Commission is working on plans to introduce a uniform rate of VAT on international passenger transport. Britain currently puts a zero rate of VAT on transport services.
DVLA blitz • The DVLA's blitz on untaxed vehicles, beginning next week, could result in hauliers and drivers facing fines of up to £15,000.
