expertise will count
THE recent appeal of Sludge Disposals Ltd and others against the grant of a B licence to Effluents (Manchester) Ltd. supports a contention of mine, In this case the Tribunal rejected the appeal of the large operators and upheld the grant to Effluents (Manchester).
This enterprising firm, controlled by Mr. 1, D. Holland, who is a Bachelor of Science, an Associate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry, and an Associate of the Institute of Sewerage Purification, wished to exploit his technical expertise by providing a comprehensive service of professional advice on the disposal of factory wastes, and chemical refuse in
conjunction with a 3.200-gal, tanker and a 50-acre tip.
It was made clear at the Tribunal that Sludge Disposals also consult qualified outside experts when necessary. My point here is that transport organizations, of whatever size, which number among their staff top-flight experts in matters ancillary to transport, as such, will enjoy a head start in many developing spheres.
