FR 4.000-gal. stainless-steel road I tankers for the conveyance of petroleum spirits and other. low-flash materials have 'recently been put' into service with. Carless Capel and Leonard. Ltd., of Hackney Wick, London, E8. The tanks are mounted on AFC Mammoth Major Mk. V. chassis .and are. painted in the company's new livery of red, with white lettering and green chassis.

'1"he. pumping system is flameproof and has been developed by Carless to replace handorair-operated pumps which have not proved satisfactory in service, It is the third pump of this type to he installed; the previous two are
giving good results. • A flame-proof motor supplied by CAV is used to drive a Godfrey Waterous HJ530 pump. the whole assembly being mounted beneath the chassis on a subframe. The drive is transmitted to the pump through power-grip .belt and pulleys incorporating a suitable step-down ratio to provide a rate of discharge normally associated with gravity discharging. The safety valve of the pump is set at 25 psi,
