by Sir John Langford-Holt (Tory. Shrewsbury) in the Commons last week to give general directions to the air corporations to ensure that the charges made by them on buses between airports and air terminals were in line with ordinary bus fares charged by local competing transport organizations.
His request was turned down by Mr. John Stonehouse, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Aviation. Airport buses were subject to the control of fares applicable to bus services generally, exercised by the Traffic Commissioners or the Transport Tribunal, he said.
