Mr. Hubert G. Mason, director and joint general manager of CAV Ltd., and a director of Joseph Lucas (Export) Ltd., retired recently after 46 years with the Lucas organization. Overall responsibility for CAV sales and service is now in the hands of Mr. H. P. Astbury, sales director Following the recent death of Mr. John Oldham, who was chairman and joint managing director of Oldham and Son Ltd., Mr. Edward C. Oldham, surviving joint managing director, now becomes president of the company, retaining his seat on the board. Mr. Wilfrid Andrews has been re-elected chairman of the Royal Automobile Club for the twentieth year in succession.
Mr. Andrew G. Poison was elected a vice-chairman of the RAC in place of Sqn. Ldr. John Crampton, who retired after his three years' occupancy of that position. The other vice-chairmen who were re-elected are Mr. Howard Mathias and Mr. Arthur R. Bourne.
Mr. Archibald Hamilton has been appointed managing director of Dunlop New Zealand Ltd.
General Motors Corporation last week elected Mr. James M. Roche as president and chief operating officer, to succeed Mr. John F. Gordon,. who is to retire. Mr. Roche. who has been executive vicepresident and a director of Generol Motors' since September. 1962, was designated chairman of the executive crimmitte and was also elected a member of the finance committee. Mr. Gordon will continue as a member of the board of directors and of the finance committee. Mr. Norman M. Hill, production manager of Dennis Bros. Ltd. for the past 10 months,' has been appointed manager of the Willesden factory of ENV Engineering Co. Ltd. He was witteLeyland for many years.
Mr. K. W. Lye has been appointed service manager of Shaw and Kilburn at Western Avenue. Londoh, W.3.
Mr. Denis Ayres has joined Ash and Tracy Ltd., aluminium stockholders. Smethwick, as a technical representative. Mr. Ayres has had considerable experience in vehicle building and spent 19 years with Duramin Engineering Co. Ltd.
Mr. R. S. Harriss, who for the past 18 years has been responsible for publicity matters in connection with the Vokes Ciroup, recently relinquished his position to start up in business on his own. Mr. B. Biddle, who has been a member of Yokes' sales staff for seven years. has been appointed group publicity manager.

WIE regret to record the death this week YV of Mr. Frank Robert Harris, founder and managing director of Harris Haulage (Grays) Ltd. and Frank Harris (Coaches) Ltd,, of Grays, Essex. He was 64. Mr. Harris was very well known in both goods and passenger industries, having bought his first lorry in 1919 and his first coach four rears later. Each company now runs 30 vehicles.
