ANEW tape player unit has been developed by Reditunc Ltd., of Croydon, for use aboard buses and coaches. The new unit is called the TP18CM and provides an easily operated system of background music for passengers.

The space taken up by the player is very small, being 9 in wide, 21in. high and 10 in. deep. It can be installed in any convenient space, such as the luggage rack.

The TP18CM player uses tapes wound inside plastic cassettes. The machine is automatically switched on when • the cassette is inserted and switched off by pressing a knob and ejecting the cassette. The TP18CM tape machine costs £63, while the cassettes are issucd on a rental basis. The unit can be wired up to an existing radio system, or a power amplifier TP14 is provided at a cost of £24 10s. Various tapes are available. providing music for the sophisticated traveller or for the convivial party on a trip to Southend. • The system was sampled this week

during a demonstration • run from 'Victoria to Gatwick in a coach Provided by Timpson and Sons Ltd., of Catford. Reproduction was good throughout the coach and interference was negligible.
