Oliver overseas
• Vehicle Inspectorate chief executive Ron Oliver has been elected president of CITA (the International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee) for four years, CITA oversees the exchange of information between its 38 members and is providing recommendations for the harmonisation of international inspection standards.

Liaison post
• The International Road Transport Union (IRU) has appointed Oleg Kamberski as a permanent delegate to its liaison committee with the EU. Kamberski, a former head of the Bulgarian Association of International Road Transport Operators and Roads (AEBTRI), will be responsible for developing integrated European systems and monitoring developments in central and eastern Europe.
