More than 80,000 people attended this year's Truckfest South West at Shepton Mallet, the biggest turn-out for four years. With 600 operators providing the backbone organiser Colin Ward was a happy man. "I don't know why so many came this year, but I'm not complaining," he says. "We had a hail storm on Saturday but the weather held up much better on Sunday and everybody had a great time. Operators and manufacturers seem optimistic at the moment." Among the prize winners wa,. George Green Transport, from Worley in the West Midlands, which picked up the CM award for Best Kept Working Truck with a Volvo.
