• Applied Distribution has extended its UK network of frozen warehousing and distribution sites following an £800,000 acquisition of Glasgow-based Scotfrost.
All 59 staff, including Scotfrost's 18 drivers, began work last week for their new owners after Applied Distribution bought the company from receivers Grant Thornton. Scotfrost's parent company, the Scottish frozen-food retailer Capital Foods, went into receivership in May.
Ownership of Scotfrost gives Applied Distribution extra storage capacity of around 28,300m3 and access to its customers, which include meat producers such as Wilson. Pacetti. the pet food supplier Spillers and Capital Foods, which continues to trade.
