• An Irish haulier and his famiiv escaped unhurt this week after being held hostage overnight by seven armed men who wired one of his trucks with explosives.
The man was at home with his wife and seven children in Raphoe, County Donegal, on Sunday (7 July) when the raiders burst in. The gang spent the night attaching explosives to the truck but were disturbed at dawn by Irish police and fled.
