I bought a three-axled tractive unit two years ago to renovate and I surrendered the tax disc for a refund.
It took longer than expected to refurbish and I was just about to re-tax it when an emergency arose and I had to send it out on the road. However, it was stopped by the police.
I have since received a demand from the DVLA for more than £2,500. It says that if I pay up no court action will be taken.
I can prove that the tractor was off the road for those two years. Do I have to pay?
