• Leeds-based manufacturer Optare has launched a widebodied version of the MetroRider midibus which is designed to improve passenger access with a double-width door, single seats at the front and a 530ramwide gangway, which offers as much room as a full-size bus.
Overall width is 2,376mm — 166mm more than the standard MetroRider — a conventional 8.4m wheelbase allows room for 25 seats and 10 standing.
Built to DiPTAC specification. the MetroRider also features seats by the entrance with their own grab rails, bell push and armrests for elderly or handicapped passengers.
